Megan Roxburgh
Megan joined Paragon in May 2013, she was promoted to the position of costs draftsperson in January 2014 and has quickly developed her knowledge and expertise working on a wide variety of costs matters. She began the 3 year ACL course in September 2014 and qualified as a Costs Lawyer on 1 August 2017. During her time at Paragon, Megan has honed her skills in preparing schedules and bills of costs; conducting detailed assessment proceedings; preparing paying party points of dispute and costs budgets. As well as solicitors, her clients include litigants in person, local authorities and ATE insurers.
Expertise
Megan routinely deals with the full detailed assessment process on all manner of costs proceedings including: personal injury; clinical negligence; subrogated recovery; banking and finance; judicial review and solicitor client claims. She has been instructed on a number of paying party matters, preparing comprehensive advice in relation to receiving party bills of costs and where necessary preparing points of dispute. She also has extensive experience conducting audits of recoverable costs on behalf of an ATE insurer.
Megan has also developed a wealth of experience of the costs management process, both Claimant and Defendant; regularly preparing costs budgets, Precedent R's and negotiating with the other side ahead of the CCMC.
Megan is able to quickly grasp the key issues and complex points of law in order to provide clear and realistic advice on the recoverability of costs, regularly achieving good results for her clients.
